I do not understand why they released Hansen to call him up. This team holds on to shitty relievers like they are irreplaceable, but released a guy they invested 8 years of development in?

Hansen sucks. The question isn't why they released him but why they weren't able to develop him.

I'm doing some light reading between emails. I had no idea that in 1946 the Nazis beat back a US force using UFO/flying saucer technology that they found, understood and replicated in 8 years (those Germans are really smart!). The US, appalled at this resistance, then used three nuclear bombs (apparently a neglected and misunderstood part of Operation Highjump) to eradicate the Germans. Despite this show of force, some of the flying saucers survived and are currently working on establishing a Fourth Reich here in the US.

    Trump was born in 1946.

    Coincidence?

Oh just remembered, but this is really old time.

Randy Jones, left handed junk baller for the Padres.

The old lumber company would go up there and every pitch would be a fly out to the warning track on a 71 mph slow pitch softball toss.

I remember him at the end of his career with the Mets.

I wonder what he would have looked like had he been 40 years younger and come up to the major league today? He had the classic 1970s look with the giant, white guy afro. One of the ugliest guys ever to step between the lines. The 'fro didn't help.

The only way I see that happening is if they sweep the Brewers this week. It would move them three games back, potentially in 2nd place ahead of the Cubs. Even then, they would only be at .500.

I could see them sell and buy at the same time, shipping out Cole or Cutch (or both) while adding players in their walk years (ala Marlon Byrd) in return for minor league chaffe.

Winning the Central this year would just mean getting our ass kicked by Washington or LA in the first round of the playoffs. No chance of moving forward. Not this team.

If you get in the playoffs there is always a chance. But the Brewers are probably just better than the Pirates and the Cubs definitely are. They're not going to make it.

That is not why I say you are a Trump admirer. I write that because you are here any time something positive happens to him, usually exalting his brilliance. You are also here to quickly dismiss just about anything negative about him. Finally, it's your constant left bashing. You love the guy, that's ok but don't try to deny it. Just embrace him like Winter does.

The one huge, or is it yuge, thing that you forget is that Trump and congressional Republicans will now have a record to run on. Trump ran on promises of accomplishments that last time. Neither Trump nor his Republican congressional candidates can run on promises the next time. He has one accomplishment right now and he can thank Mitch McConnell for that one. Other than that, Trump has nothing. Well, he will have one gigantic failure and that is his healthcare bill. The next time, he will have to run on his record not his personality.

I have never bashed the left. I have bashed the Democratic Party. There is a difference.

When you lose all three branches of government plus 2/3 of state governments you deserve to be bashed because you suck at what you do.
