Goes to the running back for the best team in the country. As it always does (or QB).

What a woefully underwhelming choice and a sham of an award.

Mark Ingram may be the most boring player to ever win the award too.

He didn't even win the award for best running back in the country, but he somehow wins the award for best player.

Its a screwy year and no one was consistently good, let alone excellent. People forgot Ingrams awful game the week before, we he got benched for a faster back against Auburn.

But I dont have a problem with him winning this year, he came up big in the biggest game. Although he was far from dominant even then. I just dont see anyone else who was marketably better. They all had good years, none had great ones.

If I had to pick someone from that group for the NFL, it would easily be Suh. But even he had some non descript games.

I would've went with Gerhart. He really came on in the last 6-7 games of the season

As long as Tim Tebow didn't win, I'm glad.

Although I do think Suh should have won.

My top five would been:
Suh
McCoy
Gerhart
Ingram
Anyone other than Tebow.

Suh was the single most dominant player at any position in all of college football. The Heisman trophy has been a complete and total sham for years. Fuck the Heisman.

Heisman = Gold Glove = Offensive based award

Being in Bumfuck, I'm not unhappy about the pick.

Tebow being 5th made the show a success.

While I dont disagree he had good cause to win, he had some off games as well. I remember TxTech making him pretty invisible.

I still hold a grudge against the award from when Penn State didn't lobby hard enough to get Larry Johnson the award.

While he shattered the record for least carries to 2,000 yards and had the highest YPC for a season in the history of people playing football. He could have had about 200 more if he played the 2nd half of that Michigan State game. I still haven't seen a Penn State player so in the zone since then.
