This is the thread to discuss all things beer. The beer you're drinking. What you'd like to drink. Requests for recommendations. Cool breweries you've been too. The new brewery you're looking to open up (*nudge*).

I'm about to crack open one of these.

Well done, PF82. This is indeed a great idea for a thread.

Right now I'm drinking Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale (which is basically an IPA). I enjoy it more than their year-round IPA (Torpedo).

I'm also going to try a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale (barleywine) that I've been aging since 2010.

Nice. Bigfoot is always an interesting beer to age. I think it takes several years to lose its hoppiness. I actually prefer it fresh as fresh Bigfoot is one of the best smells ever. It's like getting a facial from a pine tree.

You can always start a Vodka thread.

I am drinking Ketle One right now.

It tastes like GOOD vodka. Unlike the many BAD vodkas out there.

Definitely surprised this thread wasn't started long ago.

Diod you guys ever just get a real good buzz going on one beer? Prior to tonight, it only happened to me once- in college- a can of "Camo 16" whiel my roommate and I were playing a Civilization II marathon. But that shit could peel paint, so it didn't hurt my rep. But it happened again tonight. Dos Equis. One single beer. I worked my ass off all day, and was just enjoying the summer evening, when the sprituality of the summer evening and the Pirates 10 over .500 just hit me while sitting in the hot tub, and I was gone. Buzzed. On a single. And it's great.

But this shit might be the gayest post in the history of not only this board, but maybe the entire history of internet posts…

I just poured a Yeti. Just wow. Crazy delicious.

Tuesday night I drank a six pack of Lagunitas Pils. A truly amazing pilsner. Try it.

I have a six pack of Founders Imperial Stout on deck along with one Founders Scotch Ale.
Utah, get me two.

Is that like some bad Russian knock off of the original?

I did have a good mixed drink with some Boyd and Blair the other night (after my need public display of shitting at Casbah). Vodka, soda, lemon, Angostura bitters, and basil. Went for the drink with bitters since they're supposed to help ease an upset stomach.

Now get this fucking shit out of my beer thread.

Celebration Ale is easily my favorite beer. Very hard to find around here and only typically distributed during a few week stretch in December.

They lifted the alcohol limit for beer in Mississippi a little over a year ago, so a local craft beer revolution is taking a place. If you ever get a chance to try Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast (rye IPA) or Southern Prohibition Devil's Harvest (EPA).
How long, Peggy?!

I was trying to be cute but then realized that it wouldn't go over well here. Too many people spell it wrong. I've changed it already.

I really try to drink other vodkas with different mixers, but I always go back to Ketle and soda with a hint of lime. It's just doesn't get better than that.

I want to try the Boyd and Blair though.

Yeah, the wife drinks Ketel and soda. Occasionally with an olive. Just don't dare fruit it.

She doesn't like lime? Not sweet at all and gives Ketle an almost vanilla flavor. I don't know how, but I taste it.
I can't do olives but I like a couple of cocktail onions.

I love beer. Not shitty beer but good beer. Perhaps beer is another of my extravagances. My beer fridge is constantly stocked. I will always have a few hefeweizens, as that is my favorite. The rest are seasonals or beer that I know friends and family like. All the beer is good beer however.

I have a fridge full of beer. From the shitty Michelob Ultra Skinny cans that my wife's best friend loves to the shitty Sam Adams Autumn variety pack and the shitty Troeg's Seasonal pack that my wife and buddy love so much. They're all shitty.

Founders Centennial IPA is my favorite. Also have some Racer 5 IPA in the fridge. Good stuff as well. About to try some Timber Beast Rye IPA.

See, I always considered Sam Adams good beer. Wish I would have tried some truly quality stuff (IPAs, etc,) before Mr. Gout came calling.
