Love that song PF82. I saw an amazing funk fusion type band on Frenchman Street in New Orleans absolutely jam out to that song one night. It was one of the highlights of my trip there.

Damn. That makes me want to take a trip there on the off chance that I'd catch that.

It is worth your time. They have all of these live bands in every place on Frenchman Street playing all types of music, but the ones playing the funk/dazz era stuff are just incredible. They followed that performance up with Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me to Stay" and then Brick's "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody" - it was absolutely an epic night. We were there until like 2:30 just drinking beers and taking in the scene.

Nice. I've done some of the quieter jazz clubs with the old lady (then young girlfriend). Although my favorite New Orleans music moment was wondering away from fucking Bourbon St during Mardi Gras and finding a group of bucket drummers on Royal St. They were insanely good.

Yeah, I hated Bourbon Street. It was over the top ridiculous. But Frenchmen Street is easily one of the coolest scenes I've ever witnessed - the buildings are all amazing, old school Creole architecture, and all you can hear is just live music all around. And every place has a different vibe, whether it be ska, treme, reggae, whatever. You can just sort of hop from place to place until you find one that fits your particular mood.

I can't wait to go back there.

Love that album.

Reminds me of the summer after my freshman year of college. I used to listen to this album almost every night.

One of the most unique bands of all time, in my opinion.

Truly original.

I was watching some old WWF videos last night and I woke up with this in my head:

The sound kind of sucks on this but it was the only live version of Poison Years I could find:

You're pretty on the inside,
That's better than not pretty at all,
You're pretty on the inside,
Too bad I'm an outside kinda pretty guy.

Somehow while listening to old Bob Mould live songs this popped up on YouTube. I forgot how much I loved this song.

Velocity Girl - My Forgotten Favorite

You're pretty on the inside,
That's better than not pretty at all,
You're pretty on the inside,
Too bad I'm an outside kinda pretty guy.

So I discovered this band this weekend, Ghost BC, though the BC part is strictly because apparently there's already an American band named Ghost, but for all intents and purposes, they're just Ghost. They currently have the number 1 Hard Rock album on Billboard, and they're all completely anonymous, the lead singer is a guy dressed as the pope with skeleton makeup, and the back up band are all named Nameless Ghouls. I think their schtick is that they're also Satanic? Anyhow, you wouldn't think a Swedish satanic doom metal band would have a beautiful cover of Here Comes the Sun. Well here you go. Fast forward for the first 1:05 of a baby screaming/The Antichrist being born. Enjoy?

*Edit, saw an interview with a Nameless Ghoul who said Ghost's main influence was The Doors. Thought that was pretty cool, can see the influence somewhat.

I'm sure I'll probably get shit for this one - not that that's ever stopped me before.

Yeah that songs lame but I used to think that chick was sooo hot (the blonde one). Hell I even went out with a girl simply because she was wearing pants like Roxette (or whatever her name is) was in the joyride video:

And I didn't realize until now that those are tights and not pants.
