This seems like a big deal.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojVerticalNBA
After Chris Paul agreed to opt-in on contract, Clippers are trading All-Star guard to the Houston Rockets, league sources tell @TheVertical

Seems odd. I guess Paul wins some because he can sign a larger deal now?

As part of the deal, Paul agreed not to opt out of his current deal. So he has one year left on his current contract. He's pretty much giving Houston a trial run and can resign with them for a larger amount if he chooses.
``We’ve got some holes we’re looking to fill. We don’t feel like we desperately have to do anything. We’re in a great spot to be in. If we can upgrade, outstanding. Upgrade at an appropriate acquisition cost, even better.’’

Yeah but if he was going to sign there in FA anyway, why would he have his new team unload assets before going there? Seems counter productive unless his only goal was to retain his bird rights

Houston is not done making moves and I'm sure the Bird rights were a factor. Cash in while you can. I mean Paul told LA to trade him because he was going to sign with Houston. He drove this move.

No doubt. Just trying to figure out why he would want the team he's going to to give up assets instead of just going there.

Although Doc Rivers has to be so happy. He's been angling to coach a 70 loss team where his kid runs the show for about 3 years now.

Clippers aren't going to have spots on the roster for most of the guys the Rockets are trading them for CP3.

Seems like most of them are D leaguers anyways.

Excuse me, G Leaguers. Beverley, Dekker and Williams seem to be the only players worth much.

Paul George has apparently been traded to Oklahoma City. That seems unexpected. I think.

So what is the deal with the Boston Celtics? They have a team that is probably the best contender to knock off LeBron, they have all of these amazing assets they could use to trade for a bonafide superstar to add to that team, and they sit around while all of these bonafide superstars get traded for what seems like pennies on the dollar.

Seems weird.

Maybe the Indiana Pacers are the weird ones.

Jeff Goodman
@GoodmanESPN
Celtics offer on draft night for Paul George, per league source, was 3 first-round picks (not the Nets pick next... espn.com/espn/now?nowId…

Plus, they traded the #1 overall pick. Don't forget that.

That seems like a classic Danny Ainge misinformation move.

Whatever Ainge is doing its working. He got Hayward, and also got to keep the draft picks.
I am nevertheless too sensible of my defects not to think it probable that I may have committed many posting errors.

I always turn to the sports pages first, which records people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures.

No doubt. I think he's probably too smart to pay Isaiah Thomas too. Just saying on the other tweet about offering the world for Paul George it doesn't make any sense and fits the classic Danny Ainge leak.
