At the moment, #1 recruiting class in the nation, all services(247, scout, Espn, and rivals). 2 five stars and 9 four stars, and in position for five more before the summer. Now, with that said, the SEC bag men wiill show up and overtake us, Bama, LSU, Tennessee, etc, and USC and Ohio State are nationwide, BUT this looks to be Franklins first top ten overall class in his tenure at PSU.

My question is, how long before Harbaughs act wears thin at Michigan? At every stop, he has worn out his welcome, the average time is about 5 years and this is year 3.

The video of Barkley running a sub 4.4 40 yard dash is pretty incredible

Paul Finebaum just destroyed Art Briles on ESPN. Repeatedly said he doesn't trust anything that comes out of Art Briles' mouth, that he is completely self-serving, is a monster, and should never coach again. Went on to suggest he should be looked at by the legal authorities. It was awesome.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the local/campus police. Briles will likely end up a part of that as well.

Pretty good piece on how and why college athletes can be paid.

http://deadspin.com/...oney-1792711863

I skimmed, but all that showed was that players that are paid won't force all athletes to owe taxes on their scholarships.

I guess some people thought that was a problem, but it is a minor issue in my mind.

His act is already old for me. Was he like this at Stanford and I just did not notice because no one cares about Pac12 football?

No Clemson in your top 10?

Liberty is paying Old Dominion $1.32M to play them in their 2018 home opener.

What was that about smaller schools not having the money to pay players?

Let's say ODU has 85 players on their roster and they pay a total of 40% to taxes and travel expenses. That leaves $792K remaining. From just one game and split evenly, ODU players would get $9317/player. Just one game.

Or Liberty could also distribute that money to its players instead of buying a home game to raise its profile. But we are told if players get money then all the other sports are forced to fold at small schools. Title IX!

That is also true. Then there is the President of Liberty, who doesn't believe in health care for all Americans but he can throw away a cool million for a football game.

Well they did hire pro rape AD Ian McCaw, so in the grand scheme of things, paying millions of dollars for a football game is very low on their list of indiscretions.

Ugh. Makes me glad I don't follow college football so closely.

I am nevertheless too sensible of my defects not to think it probable that I may have committed many posting errors.

I always turn to the sports pages first, which records people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures.

damn, that's pretty damn depressing of a read.

for as much bad as is in there, this part stood out:

Quote

The woman attended some counseling sessions at Baylor, and her counselor did not tell her about her options under Title IX, according to her lawsuit, which is in line with the reports of several other women who sought Baylor counseling for sexual assaults.

Not that it is worse than the rest but because I know a lot of counselors and one consistent trait is that they really believe in counseling. I really don't know anyone in that field that isn't there with the intention of helping a victim.
You're pretty on the inside,
That's better than not pretty at all,
You're pretty on the inside,
Too bad I'm an outside kinda pretty guy.

Bill Snyder is refusing to grant his player, Corey Sutton, his release. Just another example of how the adults in these scenarios just want to help these kids get an education and become productive adults. Always kids first.

So players want to have a guaranteed 4 year scholarship from the school, but also want to be able to leave whenever they want? He cannot get an education at KSU?

It's four, 1-year scholarships that the school can rescind. It's not an equal or fair agreement.

The school took advantage of their advantage and denied him a move to any of 35 schools. Worse still, they disclosed private information about the kid just to make it difficult for him to move.

I guess the school saw how bad they looked and decided to release him.
