This is interesting for the sports gamers.

The pic of Garnett vs Kobe is funny, and goes to show how far technology has come in 20 years.

Looks like Jagr and Bartolo are the only 16 bit players left.

I completely agree. Anymore now I have such a backlog of games that by the time I work my through them to play something that came out recently its pretty cheap. If I spend $60 on a game its gotta be something I really really want to play right away. Battlefield 1 is about the only one I'm looking forward to that much.

If you happen to play on PC I recommend checking out Humblebundle.com every so often. You can get some decent bundles and you can choose how much goes to charities. Some bundles are really good, some not so much. Another place I recommend just checking out is https://www.reddit.com/r/gamedeals. Theres a lot there, and sometimes its for non-US countries, but they'll let you know if theres a good deal going on or if a sale starts or ends soon.

Sweet, thanks.

Battlefield does look pretty sweet. I think I might let you play it first and give us a review, but you are right, it does look like a game worth dropping the $60.

I tried the beta and it was a lot of fun. But I also got burned by Battlefield 4's launch which was absolute shit. So I'm excited but I'm also trying to temper my excitement.

Anybody else get to try the For Honor closed-Beta? I played it on PC. Was unimpressed by it. I tried doing the multiplayer but after 5 minutes of waiting for them to fill out the spots (4v4) I gave up and played Doom instead.

I think this weekend is the open Beta, so maybe I'll give it another try but not holding my breath.

Battlefield is a lot of fun
Jose Tabata, Pedro Alvarez, and Andrew McCutchen are the new Jason Kendall, Brian Giles, and Kevin Young (in his prime) players that are good, but surrounded by crap which will make them losers.

Picked up the Nintendo Switch and new Zelda game today. Kind of amazing how small the actual system is. Also interesting to see them go to very small cartridges. The game is crazy for a Zelda game. It is a bit overwhelming how large the world seems.

It looks like it probably feels the way Zelda 1 felt when it was new. Haven't had the pleasure yet but I'm sold on it based on what I've seen in previews. It looks like the Zelda game that should've been.

As different as it is it very much feels like Zelda. I am always amazed at how Nintendo keeps the feel despite changing so much. Even the sounds are all extremely familiar if you have played past Zelda games and yet they don't sound outdated.

Also, being able to switch to the handheld is very convenient when the Pens are on.

Oh, and motion controls make the bow and arrow so much easier.

Hey, anyone know a legit site where you can download some classic PC games without having to worry about viruses, etc?

I'd love to have my oldest daughter start playing Oregon Trail, Seven Cities of Gold, etc., but I am so shitty and naive when it comes to downloading software online that I'm much more likely to download some Chinese malware porn than a Conestoga wagon caravan to Oregon. Help?

I bought an Oculus Rift off a guy on Facebook. $350 which is a pretty damn good deal. They just dropped the price to $500 but the day I bought it it was still $600. Bought the Oculus Touch controllers and it comes with a game called Robo Recall made by Epic. The game is awesome and really shows off the Rift. Its expensive but the Rift really is awesome. And thats coming from a guy that was very wary of VR. Im sold now though because it really is an amazing piece of tech. I really hope that Fallout 4 VR comes out because that would be really awesome to try.

What does Rift have for - like - non-gaming apps? I had to stop paying attention to it. Do they have a good web-browser yet? Art program? Stuff like that?

Haven't looked into the web browser. They do have some art programs but I haven't messed with them.
