Austin Aries asked for and received his release.
Jose Tabata, Pedro Alvarez, and Andrew McCutchen are the new Jason Kendall, Brian Giles, and Kevin Young (in his prime) players that are good, but surrounded by crap which will make them losers.

Fuck off, Jermaine. Maybe you didn't kn-ohOH, but this thread is some serious shit.

Winter, I don't think its a good idea for you to alienate your last ally on the board just to stick up for a guy who wishes he was U's cum dumpster. At least until silverspring is back.

That surprises me, considering he just made it. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, as I found his character redundant, but it does surprise me.

I'm certainly going to stick up for WWE when you say it's only for 12-year old boys. Maybe don't allow your mini-feud with V2 to spill into other threads?

V2, Punk//Styles would be INSANE. Are there rumors of him retuning, or is this just wishful thinking on your part?

For one, I wanted to give this thread a different focal point for a short while. We can only repeat the same debates over and over for so long. Ie: the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers.

Second, it's all wishful thinking. I believe CM Punk will return to wrestling someday, but it might be for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Heck, I think that's where Bryan will go when his WWE deal is up. I could see them joining NJPW, trying to make it a destination for other guys and trying to build a product that is more in line with what they want to do (focus on matches and having long term booking.

I'm interested, too, in how others would reintroduce Punk and Bryan into WWE's ring. Bryan may still be there, but he's not truly an active participant. I feel there'd be a lot for them to do, particularly lift up and put over the current crop of guys who need that extra hand to be cemented stars -- Rollins, Styles, Owens, Etc.

Dude was a major pain in the ass. Wanted the "brass ring" handed to him instead of working for it. He made way to many waves behind the scenes and didn't earn the respect of anyone from the lockerroom to the top boss. He totally cost himself millions upon millions.

I'm older than 12.

Just, for the record everyone.

Last week, I wasn't able to catch Raw or Smackdown with my 90-year old next door neighbor, so I went on Wednesday and watched Lucha wrestling with him.

Have you guys seen this shit? I'm not sure whether it's truly shot in Mexico- or whether they just make it look that way- but it was unreal. They are two 1-hour episodes, and the quality of wrestling was far superior to anything from WWE outside of one of the better PPVs.

I watched Son of Havoc against Dante Fox, and it was phenomenal.

Lucha is amazing. It's why I loved guys like Rey Mysterio Jr, the high flying flips and stuff. Really good stuff.

I haven't caught the show. I've heard good things. I'm not a fan of the lucha style of wrestling. Seems more like acrobatics than wrestling.

It's actually not all Lucha though. The match I talked about was closer to a hardcore match in ECW than anything.

The storylines are simpler, but so much better than WWE. None of the silly bullshit.

Ill have to check it out sometime. I remember not liking the cruiserweight division in wcw because of the lucha style. Guys like mysterio, juventud guerrero, and some others who i can't remember doing circus style moves.

I've always gravitated toward the submission style offense like Flair, Bret Hart. Those guys just told a great story in the ring because they attacked a certain part for their finisher. Don't see that very much anymore.
