Is it too soon to say Gregory Polanco sucks?

Nice fucking catch, El Coffee.

These guys don't deserve to be wearing big league uniforms.

Did Hurdle just do a double switch in the 4th inning?

10 baserunners plus a HBP in 3 1/3 for Glasnow. Well done. This bitch is going to be back in AAA by the end of May, never to be heard from again. What a turdblossom.

Good call, 3.1 innings.

Another example of NH's drafting excellence.

Thats not a base hit either. This is the major leagues. The official scorer is a homer.

watching
on ESPN and MLB.com and never was sure about score. Total score said the Bucs had 6 runs but box score only had Lester giving up 5 and box score of Pirates only had 5 runs scored.

They have screwed up several games already this season.

Nice win but there is no way Daniel Fucking Hudson should be pitching the eighth inning. Or the seventh. Or really doing anything other than pitching in a mop up role.

Rivero and Nicasio have both been far better. Hell, LeBlanc has been better than Hudson.

There's an argument for using Nicasio in short relief, but I think his ability to go multiple innings and pitch well adds more value to the team. It allows the Hurdle to be more aggressive about yanking a SP who looks awful before the game gets out of reach.

I am impressed with the Pirates' ability to look like shit while beating a good team.

Probably. Although, in 2014 we were all clamoring for him to be called up to Pittsburgh. Now, if Huntington optioned him back to Indy tomorrow, not a lot would be said against it. I expected so much more from him. And I'm not alone.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. And the Bucs were lucky last night, helped greatly by Chicago leaving a platoon on base. I was actually surprised they held on last night. One thing's for sure, they aren't going to win very many more games where they give up 20 baserunners.

Also surprising is nobody here said anything about Gift's MLB debut. Maybe I'm just an old soft-heart, but I teared up when he singled in his first AB. If you've ever read about Gift, his is a helluva story. He's pretty hard to root against. They'll probably make a Rudy-like movie about him someday, even if his MLB career doesn't amount to much.

I wish more than ever that Gregory Polanco would've accepted the Pirates' $75,000,000 contract extension right when he was called up.

THAT may have gotten Neal Huntington fired quicker than anything. If there's one thing Bob Nutting values, it's Bob Nutting's bottom line.

PS Daniel Hudson is up to a 5.59 ERA.

I'm genuinely interested in what about Daniel Hudson made people here so staunchly defend the $11,000,000 Neal Huntington spent on him in the offseason. I really am.

No because he does. I was one of his biggest fans but I just can't watch him try to play baseball anymore. If you can't catch a fly ball, you don't belong in the major leagues. Especially when you're slugging something like .288.
Utah, get me two.

I had massively high hopes for him before this year.

Remember when people got super angry at the idea of trading Polanco and Glasnow together?

Yeah and now it would be hard to give him away with his guaranteed contract.

They could end up being a wild reliever and a 4th OF. I believe the idea at the time was Stanton for those two and maybe Alen Hanson? Stanton so far this year has 7 HR and a .950 OPS. Very likely on his way to a Hall of Fame career if he can ever finish a full season
