Well... you can't be Hitler your whole life and then throw out an "I believe in you!" real quick to save your ass on a technicality. Because you aren't being genuine. Same way a mute person doesn't have to say anything out loud to pray. Point of the New Testament was to get rid of technicalities. He's not looking for reasons to reject you. You pretty much have to reject Him. God will take ANYONE who wants him as long as you mean it. That includes awesome people and some people who are douche bags. It is a free gift. God wants nice people, jerks, gay people, straight, every race, etc. Except for fat Asians. They give Him the creeps. Lieutenant Dan's wife is screwed.

Free gift, for everyone, not based on works but for anyone who wants it.

I thought you libs were into that sort of thing. :)/>/>/>

It's a plot hole in Christianity. While I tend to agree with the execution, it would be difficult to make the Hitler to God fearing Christian transition but the theory is accurate. By policy, anyone who truly finds Christ, will receive God's grace. I'm not against redemption but I think the life you lead should count for something.
People say I am ruthless. I am not ruthless. And if I find the man who is calling me ruthless, I shall destroy him.
Robert F. Kennedy

Moral courage is a more rare commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence.

Dick Gautier.

Who you ask? (I know you are asking that because I did) He played Hymie to robot in Get Smart. I watched every one of those episodes when I was a kid. Loved it.

To my understanding, it will matter to God if you lived a "good" life or not. One can be redeemed, to paraphrase Paul, as someone emerging from a burning building with nothing but his smoldering clothes and none of the "rewards" once they get to paradise, whatever those rewards are supposed to be. I don't know because I never cared about that part and don't remember.

We are supposed to answer for the good and the bad, even those who ultimately receive grace. But the NT took great care to make it clear that works can't save you and that there is no price for us to pay. Hope for the hopeless and all. Also, that someone who claims they are saved but doesn't act like it is probably faking it because it does change you. If there is one thing Jesus railed about more than "organized religion" and their leaders, I'm unaware of it. Proves true today, too. Is there anyone more hypocritical than a politician who campaigns on Jesus and can't stand his fellow man?

Of course, for all I know, there is no God. I believe there is. But the way many "Christians" behave, some of them might want to hope there isn't.

Ok, I'm dragging down the thread.

Back to celebrity cadavers!

He probably can't live with the thought of a Trump presidency.

Mike Connors, "Mannix." 91.

Looks like 2017 is going to be a bad year for 1970s TV.

Tied with the Rockford Files for best detective series ever.

as a teenager, I liked the way a car went off a cliff in almost every episode of Mannix.

MST3K had a lot of fun with that. Especially in the older episodes, when cars went over cliffs and burst into flames, they usually made a Mannix reference.

Charles Shackleford
In any human group, family, tribe, (or baseball team), there are norms - shared expectations of behavior. Any member who deviates from these norms calls into question the basic values of the group. And groups don't like to have their basic values questioned. It makes them nervous. - Jim Bouton in Ball Four Plus Ball Five

What about doctors who make house calls? Repairmen who know how to fix things? And ballplayers who hustle? And boxers who get carried out of the ring, instead of quitting because of stomach cramps? And what about the death penalty for scum who take a human life and snuff it out like it's so much garbage? I've seen the past, gentlemen, and it works. - William Shatner as T.J. Hooker in episode 1.1 'The Protectors'

It seems likely that removing the sense of closure from book writing will, in time, alter writer's attitudes toward their work. The pressure to achieve perfection will diminish, along with the artistic rigor that the pressure imposed. - Nicholas Carr from The Shallows

Geoff Nicholls who was the keyboard player and ghost bassist for Black Sabbath from 1979-2004 passed away due to lung cancer.
Jose Tabata, Pedro Alvarez, and Andrew McCutchen are the new Jason Kendall, Brian Giles, and Kevin Young (in his prime) players that are good, but surrounded by crap which will make them losers.
Who needs a good team on the field when you have fireworks and bobbleheads!

Of course Black Sabbath would have a "ghost" bassist.
