Yes it was. I tried to watch it yesterday but it wasn't on demand and I was too lazy to find my BluRay.
I am nevertheless too sensible of my defects not to think it probable that I may have committed many posting errors.

I always turn to the sports pages first, which records people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures.

Lou Duva.

I would have guessed he had died about 15 years ago.

My friend Shaun Rolly died this morning. Shaun was a Pittsburgh stage actor and stage combat professional. He appeared in Cormac McCarthy's The Road when it shot in Pittsburgh, and had been doing a show called A Pirates Tale with the Gateway Clipper Fleet.

An extraordinary man taken way too soon.

Says the disheveled lech who takes nude pictures of nubile barely legals...

Thanks Marty. You're not demonstrating invasive tendencies you supposedly abhor at all. I'm sure you were just surfing the Post-Gazette and found this, not obsessing over someone you supposedly don't give a damn about... but anyways...

It's a weird case. We heard about his sudden death on Monday, and when I posted here, none of this was public. He was a friend of the family and a really good guy. His family believes this was all a setup by his ex-wife who has been trying to ruin his life for years. The suicide... is problematic in that narrative.

Anyways, it's like a soap opera on Facebook. And really sad. It's ruined his family.

A soap opera, you say. None of us on this board can relate to that.

Overheard at the funeral:

"It's me. His cousin. Maaaaaaarvin Berry."

With Michael J Fox somewhere close by, playing the guitar.

I heard on dve this morning that Buckcherry is named for Chuck Berry, which kind of sucks. Cause they kind of suck. Luckily I read on wiki: "Although Buckcherry is a spoonerism of Chuck Berry, the group said it was inspired by a drag queen acquaintance of theirs named Buck Cherry," and all is right with the world.
You're pretty on the inside,
That's better than not pretty at all,
You're pretty on the inside,
Too bad I'm an outside kinda pretty guy.

The Reaper working on his Chuck collection this month
Kind of makes this gem seem kind of silly now ..... oh, wait, it was silly then ............

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the fertile imagination of bradlej31:

I really don't think they'll make either a qualifying offer.

I believe both signed in 2012 under the pretense of the Pirates not offering a qualifying offer.

If you think that it's stupid then do you think it's stupid if they would've signed with someone else?  I personally think is genius because I don't think any other team has started doing that yet to attract FAs.

After Martin leaves without a qualifying offer it will become pretty obvious though.  I hope they sign another similar type free-agent or two before they don't qualify Martin.  It's their little secret right now but it'll get out here in two months.
