Just kidding, well sorta. I'm about done running this site. It's becoming too much honestly. At one point it was autopilot but those days are long gone. I don't want to sell the site, but I will transfer domain ownership and all relevant files so the site can still be used. I just don't want to be in charge of this anymore. PM me if interested. It's nothing that the site will be 404 one day, I am just starting the ball rolling to get my responsibilities off of it.

You're pretty on the inside,
That's better than not pretty at all,
You're pretty on the inside,
Too bad I'm an outside kinda pretty guy.

The funny thing is when I first saw the topic, I assumed Donald Trump was trying to close the Central Intelligence Agency.

Thanks for all the memories you helped create and foster here, Sean. I'm sure you did more behind-the-scenes stuff to keep this board running than anyone here realizes.

Si.

Which one?

Both. Y Taco Bell tambien.

That's ludicrous.

No es lucridoso.

I'm pretty sure that lucridoso is not a word.

Meals. Gourmandism.

Now you're just saying tangentially related words.

Sean, can't thank you enough for running this site over the years. Hard to imagine that it very well might not be around much longer. I hope that you find a successor, and that you make a few appearances on this board's reincarnation.

If Sean wants to share, I can cover the financials.

Hahahaha. If nobody caught it the first 8 times, GoBucs is doing INCREDIBLY well financially now that Donald Trump is President.

Yep. I have you and many others to thank for it.

My apologies if this was covered already, but I'm curious, given hindsight, if you'd vote for Trump again in the primary?

I didn't mind the financials. Uber, I'm not sure entirely. I would have to research how to transfer a domain first which I think should be easy. Then you or whoever would need to get hosting. Might be worthwhile to keep the same company (stablehost). I do the 19.99/month hosting as it seems to support the load well here. Then at that point, FTP from my host server to the new host server and update credentials.

I think it would be incredibly sad if CIA were to shut down. It has survived so much. It's like the horseshoe crab of baseball message boards.

What sets it apart is frankly everything but the Pirates discussions. A whole generation of Pirates fans have now grown up in the Internet age, and there are countless places to go for the ever-meaningful debate about whether Nutting is a dickbag. Strangely, there are tens of thousands of Pjomas in the world, and they hate when people harsh their mellow. But there are also now tens of thousands of people who understand the team is hopelessly mired with a cheap owner. What once set this site apart -- truth in discussion about Pirates baseball -- is now pervasive. For every Tim Shillington, there is some 15-year old who thinks he's a crock of shit.

No, what sets this message board apart are the deep friendships and off-topic discussions. The political discussion alone is a reason to tune in. When something bad happens in the world, it's CIA we turn to for immediate feedback. It's Pavlovian.

Consider the narrative of this place. We've had a member die (/ascii RIP Greybeard /ascii). We've seen so many grow up, get married and have kids. Steelcity and Jwill became real-deal sports writers. We've seen GoBucs make fuck you cash off of Trump's love of his wife's chili. Even blurjose started a 401k.

Fifteen plus years is a long time, and though so many have left, the reality is that this place is like the fraternity we never pledged. We will always be brothers in boobery, even Bri. It may not be in the first paragraph, but CIA will be a part of all of our obituaries. Especially Maco, because his wives won't let the others be mentioned.

All that to say, why don't we give this board another chance, eh? Just like we might give any of its band of brothers a second chance. Because we're cut from the same jib, and our wives don't understand this special place we found amongst the stars.
"There is a well-orchestrated and well-funded effort going on in America... Its the wealthy elite trying to restratify the wealth of this nation.
