It's gonna be a LONG summer, so let's start a season thread...
Today's game: Jeff Locke ERRR Chad Kuhl, on the mound for the Bucs. Bringing with him, his 6.3 ERA. And of course, still being ran out there by Hurdle.

Chad Kuhl should be in the bullpen where he belongs. His 98mph fastball is a good fit as 7th inning reliever.

Taillon and Kingham cant come up soon enough.

In his short career, he's been bad at PNC.

This is prolly a far better idea to have one season thread, versus individual game threads at this point.

Thank goodness for the Pens amazing run. This has kept me from having to focus on the Pirates for well over a month.

This thread is a smart thread.

Nova didn't deserve that loss.

How can you bring Hudson into a tie game and expect a different result? Hurdle has gone insane. Time for his evil twin, Tom Prince, to take over.
"We’ll be comfortable adding one (starter),” he said. “We’ll be comfortable adding nobody if it’s just not there. We don’t feel we are driven to force it. If we can add one that makes sense for us, that’s great. If we can add two that make sense … then we do that.”

This was always the case. I was ok with the idea of using him as a starter last year when the season was lost, but he was locked into a rotation spot this year. Not like the Pirates were going to trade/sign someone better I guess.

Kingham should be better, but he is probably a mid rotation guy at best.

The bullpen is full of multiple inning pitchers for blowouts, and Hurdle is on his last pitcher in the 12th.

Vinnie Barbarino gives up a HR and Arizona takes the lead in the top of the 11th. Jordy Fucking Mercer ties it with
a homer with 2 outs in the bottom of the 11th.

There's plenty of Little League right fielders who would handle that ground ball single to RF better than the Pirates dreadlock wearing jagoff. No doubt Jaso will state after the game that he deserves no criticism from anybody who hasn't played at his level. My least favorite Pirate of all time.

And just like that, Frazier is arctic cold, 0 for 7.

Hansen on waivers. Gift back to AAA
Jose Tabata, Pedro Alvarez, and Andrew McCutchen are the new Jason Kendall, Brian Giles, and Kevin Young (in his prime) players that are good, but surrounded by crap which will make them losers.
Who needs a good team on the field when you have fireworks and bobbleheads!

Guess Moroff deserves a promotion after suddenly becoming a power hitter in AAA. Don't know that it continues in the big leagues though. Hope Gosselin isn't the othe callup, he stinx. Bostick maybe?

I still do not understand why the hell Jaso continues to play and they did not let Hansen go out there as much as they could to see if he has anything. How many utility infs does this organization have? Zero OFs to call up?

When you look at the names being called up, you can see why. Aside from Austin Meadows, there is nothing else of value at AAA to call up.

Jaso has stunk this year, but prior to this year, he was a pretty consistently productive Major Leaguer. Sadly, the Pirates have nothing to replace him with that would be a certain upgrade to the bench.

It seems obvious this is not a playoff team, so you might as well let a guy like Hansen suck instead of a guy with no future like Jaso. They had Freese, Frazier and Polanco out and went with Jaso everyday. Hansen could very well have no future, but they might as well find out. They are letting Kuhl continue to start for some reason after all. Maybe Moroff is better, but I would rather see if both are better than vets they have with no future here.

Is it too much to ask to have a viable OF in the minors that you can callup? We know Meadows will not be up. They have two shitty minor league vets and the rest of the AAA roster is infielders. They are obsessed with turning middle infielders into corner OFs. it is insane.
