These games are just filler until we get that Glasnow - Arrieta matchup on Saturday.
You're pretty on the inside,
That's better than not pretty at all,
You're pretty on the inside,
Too bad I'm an outside kinda pretty guy.

Exciting day game after a night game lineup today

1. Jordy Mercer ® SS
2. Starling Marte ® CF
3. Andrew McCutchen ® RF
4. Gregory Polanco (L) LF
5. David Freese ® DH
6. Josh Harrison ® 3B
7. Josh Bell (S) 1B
8. Phil Gosselin ® 2B
9. Chris Stewart ® C

At least Cutch still gets to flail weakly at breaking balls on the outside corner from the 3 hole

So essentially Gosselin is the DH. Pathetic.
Utah, get me two.

I hate that Frazier won't get a look against lefties. You can't just put a guy in a platoon before seeing if he even struggles vs same handed pitchers

Doesn't Frazier have a reverse platoon split too? I seem to recall he hits lefties very well.

The Pirates are going to get their shit pushed in again today.

Yeah I leaned not long ago that he did fine against lefties in the minors and in his limited MLB ABs.

He always hit righties better i believe, and reverse platoons are not sustainable. You might see them pop out in a season, but it is very rare for that to carry over multiple seasons. Still even if he hit righties better, he hit lefties well.

PSU pointed out that BBRef does have minor splits, they are by year, so you have to do some clicking. Would be nice if there was a summary by level.

Glad to see Cutch stop flailing and start hitting

2 of the 5 starters for Boston have ERAs over 7...they must suck. Maybe one of the worst rotations in years?

Wrong. Every sentence.
"We’ll be comfortable adding one (starter),” he said. “We’ll be comfortable adding nobody if it’s just not there. We don’t feel we are driven to force it. If we can add one that makes sense for us, that’s great. If we can add two that make sense … then we do that.”
Opie Taylor. In a decisive moment.

No minors thread, but Drew Hutchison had 7 ks and two walks in 5+...but gave up 5 runs. When he misses, he misses for extra bases, not walks. A.J. Schugel does not look like he will help this team anytime soon.

Kuhl really settled down, was at 40 pitches in the middle of the 2nd, only 73 in the 6th.

Josh Bell has been under-the-radar ass so far this year. Let's hope that corrects. Love the swing. Hopefully the production soon follows.

Huge props to Kuhl for going into what would have to be a pretty intimidating environment for a rookie/2nd year player, with his team currently in freefall, and just closing the damn door on a pretty good offense.

Great to see.

Shouldn't have taken Kuhl out .
