Go, shit birds.

1. Cutch has a good year and isn't traded as NH crosses his fingers for a late summer run that never happens.

II. Cole turns into a stud and gets a few Cy Young votes.

E. The bullpen bombs, and that's where NH focuses at the deadline.

d. Tyler Glasnow gets an early July call-up.

V. Winter admits that Trump stinx.

Finally.

87 wins

Cutch bounces back to be a respectable corner outfielder. OPS+ around 115 or so. Marte breaks out with 20 bombs and 40 steals. Polanski is a mirror of Cutch offensively. The team finds a way to be top 6 in the NL in runs and the rotation is shit but not complete shit. Nova somehow becomes a strong #3. Taillon is adequate as a 2. Cole is really a 2 but does pretty well. 4 and 5 are an issue (shocker). But they aren't 2016 bad (because Hutch stays down at AAA). The pen is solid if unspectacular. Opie actually makes a few trade deadline deals that keep them in the wildcard hunt.

There fuckers.

83 - 78 -1

The rotation at the beginning of this season is better than the beginning of last year, but not convinced that they'll get much offense from the infield or bench.
"We’ll be comfortable adding one (starter),” he said. “We’ll be comfortable adding nobody if it’s just not there. We don’t feel we are driven to force it. If we can add one that makes sense for us, that’s great. If we can add two that make sense … then we do that.”
Opie Taylor. In a decisive moment.

I'll be optimistic here and say 81-81.

Of course that'll require Hutchison to get released before he does too much damage to the Pirates record.

Could hit 90 if every single thing breaks right regarding Cole, Taillon, Nova. Also Cutch bounce back. Marte breaks out finally. Meadows called up in place of Polanco. Kang's visa rejection will hurt badly offensively. Frazier will contend for ROY (unless his rookie eligibity is gone already).

Deadline deal with either Hellickson or Buckholz from Philly to solidify rotation. Rivero becomes closer by midseason.

Fall short of WC by 4 games. Huntington fired. Hurdle retires with Tom Prince taking over in 2018.

I am nevertheless too sensible of my defects not to think it probable that I may have committed many posting errors.

I always turn to the sports pages first, which records people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures.

74-88.

Kang is never heard from again.

Glasnow goes full Rick Ankiel and is working out in left field by August.

Hutchinson suffers a season ending "injury" in June but only after going 2-8 with an 8.46 ERA.

Cutch rebounds to some extent to about a 120 OPS+

Hurdle is sent into a forced retirement.

Nutting blames the players and announces an expansion of Seven Springs

Thr offense will be better than most on the board think, but I can't go higher because of that rotation.

How do you think the offense is going to be better? I am not picking an argument, just legitimately wondering.

I would like to have hope but I see huge question marks at 1B, RF, and CF. Cervelli is starting to get a lot of miles on him. Mercer, Harrison, and Freese are adequate at best, and the bench is weaker than last year. The only reliable guy offensively is Marte.

Sure Bell and Polanco could break out and Cutch could re-establish himself. But those guys could just as easily shit the bed or tread water.

I think that Cutch will rebound in a big way and that Polonco will break out. It will be hard to say who the best outfielder is (offensively speaking).

I think they are adequate to good everywhere but 3B, which is a problem that won't be resolved with anyone currently in the organization.

Need to get more than a .700 OPS from Cervelli, Harrison, and Mercer. Maybe getting Harrison back to playing 2 or 3 different positions would help get his bat going and allow them to get Frazier in the lineup as the lead off hitter.

If the object of the game is to win right now, why does Cutch need to be traded, when we all know Neal will get fucked in the ass, no matter what?

Yes, I realize, the object of Bob Nutting is NOT to win right now, but I am saying WHAT IF IT WAS?

Max about 87 wins, minimum 75. Im guessing 79 wins.
Jose Tabata, Pedro Alvarez, and Andrew McCutchen are the new Jason Kendall, Brian Giles, and Kevin Young (in his prime) players that are good, but surrounded by crap which will make them losers.
Who needs a good team on the field when you have fireworks and bobbleheads!

I'll say 93-69, they host the WC game, and lose it.
